I just loved reading this last paragraph and wanted to share it. Melody Beattie closes with quoting another writer about taking chances and making choices in your life.
"I know, I know. You don't want to make the same mistakes again. You don't want to lose yourself that much again. That's a healthy fear, but don't let it stop you from living and loving. You may have been burned from getting too close to the fire, but getting close to the fire is the only way to get warm. Surrender to the pain. Then learn to surrender to the good. It's there and more is on the way. Love God (me: or your HP). Love Family. Love what you do. Love people, and learn to let them love you. And always keep loving yourself. No matter how good it gets, the best is yet to come."
Today my HP gave me the joy of sharing in celebrating the birth of a wonderful half-sister to my grown up children, on what day? Father's Day, a day which I was inwardly dreading and feeling pain about, as my father has only just a few days ago given me a very painful lesson to deal with. I don't know what to say to him anymore and I leave that one up to Life. I've said enough, cried enough, tried enough, and it's time to let go.
My daughter sent me a photo of her dad's little angel baby girl, she looks like a wide eyed pixie, bright and curious at only a few hours old. I cried with joy and pain and sadness and relief and love all at the same time.
And then sent them a nice bunch of pink gerberas.

I watched the movie Harold and Maude last night, this is a quote from Maude:: Love it). A lot of people enjoy being dead. But they are not dead, really. They're just backing away from life. *Reach* out. Take a *chance*. Get *hurt* even. But play as well as you can. Go team, go! Give me an L. Give me an I. Give me a V. Give me an E. L-I-V-E. LIVE! Otherwise, you got nothing to talk about in the locker room.
