www.ted.com/talks/brene_brown_on_vulnerability.htmlA woman with no real skills with vulnerability herself shares her experience and research. Because it was a foreign concept to her when she started her work on it, her words carry real weight. Plus she approaches it totally scientifically! Fascinating.

This is terrific. And timely for me. I had the courage to be vulnerable, the willingness to say it first.
And the part about numbing with addiction and how it doesnt become selective, the good gets numbed too... This is a great talk! Thanks for sharing

Yes, thank you jacarandgirl, I put it on my wall on facebook. As she spoke , I felt the pain of my last PoA relationship. Each time I made myself vulnerable and was hurt I shut down more and more until I had a breakdown last May. Watching the video, I feel how natural and true hearted I was living before I met him. Even my intention was to help him find his vulnerability and not be afraid. Instead, he barked and baulked and growled until I became sad and depressed; my glowing light was stomped on by a frightened man. The healing and return to a whole hearted, true hearted woman has been moving along since I started writing on this board and getting validation that I am not just a ditz who looks at the world through rose-colored glasses. Well, maybe I am, but I'm not the only one! Safe Holiday to all. I'll be with my 83 yr old widower mother and my grown kids are all over the country. Fm2

This is wonderful. After a terrible week of withdrawal, this makes it seem all worthwhile.

This was very much what I needed to hear today. Some of it I've recently learned through experience but she brings it all together. Thanks so much for sharing the link. I've shared it on my FB too.
