I work with my PoA.
I am currently on lay-off. I thought this would be great. It's been a week, all I do is think about her. I am gonna be laid-off for a month maybe two.
I think I should take the time to look or a new job. My problem is I have a DUI conviction from 2 years ago. I am still working on getting my D/L back. I am not sure what new employers will think about that.

torch, I have some experience with dui's, and if the jobs your are applying for do not require you to drive, it should not be a problem. You dont need a drivers license to work, you only need a valid picture i.d. and I know in my state they issue a i.d. card it look just like a drivers license. And also it all depends on the employer. We make mistakes in life, take it from me, if this is your first dui, it would be a good idea to not get anymore because it does not look good plus it is a little embarrassing the older you get. Now that your laid off, are you going to any meetings? What have you been doing for your recovery, since you have some extra time?

I've only been home for a week now. I've been trying to go to more AA meetings. There is no LAA meetings in Chicago. I've been busy with working on my D/L and filing unemployment and just getting my apartment in order.

Hi. I worked with my PoA as well. There aren't any LAA meeting here in Chicago but I have started going to SLAA and find that it's fantastic. Yes there are some folks in the meetings that suffer from more of the sex addiction piece but everyone I have met so far is really great and none of the sharing is inappropriate at all. PM me if you need/want anymore info. on the meetings.
