Good morning!
I'd love to hear what everyone is doing for their recovery today? Let's talk about solutions. What are you doing to focus on you and your recovery?
I'll start:
1. I am going to a CODA meeting - leading it, actually.
2. I am going to a workshop that interests me (improv).
3. I am attending a dinner and movie night hosted by recovery friends.
4. I started my day be reading program literature and journalling.
5. I am providing good self-care by cleaning my house.
You're up? What are you doing to recover on Saturday?

Thanks for the question CLA. For my recovery, just for today.. I am: -Doing my morning meditation. -Thanking my HP for my soberity and for my recovery from my love addiction. -cleaning my house. -taking my daily shower. -Going out later to cash my check and pay my bills. -buy something new, maybe a new lipstick or hair care product, just something for me. -And posting on this site, helping others. -i want to go see that new movie "safe house". -and enjoying that im finally finally over my poa. (8 months to get there). Enjoying my peace and serenity.

I have this bracelet called "good deed beads." It's a bracelet with ten beads that you can move from one side of the bracelet to the other. Mine are red beads, with a heart charm. So I wear it to remind me to love myself. I play a game with myself where I have to love myself in ten ways every day. Every time I take any kind of positive action to love myself, I pull a bead over, until I use all the beads. It kind of keeps me focused on being positive. So I've been attending a recovery group called Celebrate Recovery. I've been reading books about love addiction and self esteem. I've been working the 12 steps again. I've been journaling. Love the beads thing.
I've increased doing the things I love. I go regularly to a tabletennis night, a writing group, an amazing choir, sometimes 2 or 3 CoDA meetings a week, and I got a new sponsor. I'm letting unhealthy friends go their own way, paying more attention to the friends I want in my life. I went life drawing the other day, a women's meditation day and I've been going to the movies and out to dinner with the CoDA women after the women's group.
I'm so lucky I think. I may not be able to afford to go overseas and stay in fancy places, but I have a good life here at home. I am going to be moving soon and I'm not worried about it. I'm trusting my HP.
