I have to remember to start checking this forum more often. It was one of my favorites.
I am a little less codependent today than I was months ago.
I have had this dog walker for many years. She and her husband are great people who truly love dogs. But I havent needed her services for years now. I still kept paying them to walk my dog because I couldnt bring myself to stop. I felt bad about taking that income away from them.
But for financial reasons I had to do it. So yesterday I just did it. I dont know how or where the strength came from but I called her up and explained it. She sounded relieved. My dog is getting old and doesnt like to walk much anymore. He needs a lot of encouragement. So it probably wasnt very enjoyable for them anymore.
Its just one small step in removing the layers of the codependent onion.

Thanks you all
Luv, I have not heard of that book but it sounds like something I should read and enjoy. No I heard the phrase peeling the onion at meetings. I never knew what it felt like to peel the layers until the other day. Now I know.
