Yes -- one addiction can certainly be replaced by another. My sister-in-law has given up alcohol, and attends at least two recovery (AA) meetings daily and has for years. Her conversations revolve around the 12 Steps and she says following them is the answer to any and all of life's issues. When my son was going through some teen angst (he was 16), she said it was high time he begin to work the Steps -- her proselytizing was not particularly helpful. Family members aren't quite sure if her new addiction (to AA/12 Steps) is much better than her drinking....

This is a great subject. I've given up religion long time ago. I feel really sorry for those who are still in addiction in any form. I'm grateful that finally I got cured by my HP. Hopefully they get cured too. But it's not my business if they choose not to. I can only travel my own journey and wish others well.

If you looked through the links--it's NOT about religion per se. More about Toxic Faith

Ah if it's toxic that speaks for itself. You gotta run awaaaaaaaay from it. Because faith founded in truth is VERY LIBERATING, FRUITFUL, ENRICHING, JOYFUL, PEACEFUL, ENERGIZING, HEALING, etc... That no amount of riches and successes in this world can make me exchange my faith in my awesome HP. I hope those who are in any toxic faith or element find genuine faith because it's profitable not only in this life but forever eternally.
