Such a true statement, long but not impossible. When I take into consideration what it that I am up to in recovery it makes sense that it takes time, that the path can be difficult and that at times I wonder if the pain or suffering will ever end. But on this end of things I know for sure I am worth every last step of this journey. Each step I take towards me is a step away from the insanity that was once my life. Hang in there sweetgirl! You are worth it. I think the thing for me too, is during my active LA I suffered unbelievably and there really was no hope, at least now I am moving towards real healing.

For years in AA I used to say this. Then one day I was in a literature meeting and I read the original statement in the AA Big Book. It jumped out at me. It was not " to" it was " of" The road of happy destiny. This means we are on the road TOGETHER and NOW. There is no destiny out their waiting for us. We are living our destiny and we are not alone. This reminds me of the OA Unity Prayer, "We are all together now."
I put my hand in yours, and together we can do what we could never do alone. No longer is there a sense of hopelessness; no longer must we each depend upon our own unsteady will power. We are all together now, reaching out our hands for a power and strength greater than ours, and as we join hands we find love and understanding beyond our wildest dreams. From Overeaters Anonymous

I find I need to be on these boards, reading, participating, every day. But also I need to work on my self esteem because my pride and ego were hurt. I'm better than that and I didn't deserve the rejection i received. I am a great person, Positive, and fabulous when I'm in a good spot in my life. Yes, it takes time but, I know I can do it one day at a time. And will get stronger if I can do a few simple things each day and maintain my positive attitude.
