I have noticed a shift within some of my recovery friends in the last few weeks. And I have a question swirling around in my head this morning.
I need to ask too make sure that i am not moving in the wrong direction, and I trust the input on this forum.
I am a happy, upbeat positive person, I turn to my higher power when i am in pain, and i try and see what my part is in why iam feeling the way i feel.
I always have time to listen when someone needs a shoulder to cry on, not trying to offer advise for them, just listening.
But I have noticed, do unhappy, and sad people, do they just not like happy, upbeat positive people?
Or am I just more aware of this, because I have been in recovery for 3 years, and people are just not happy anymore.

LML,
From time to time I have found in the workplace that people feel threathened by upbeat and happy people. Now, I'm not saying this is what is happening here. But, if you are beating the right beats, then , don't look back, keep on doing what you are doing to keep in good form. Don't mind the behaviour of others. (I'm not saying ignore these people as they are clearly on a journey with you) .

The really cool thing about life is that it's all happening for you, not to you. So if your friends don't seem to like you when you are happy, it's all for you to be able to use towards your recovery if you choose.
What that could mean is looking at any reaction you have to them, like "they should like me more" or "they should be happier", or "these people don't like me when I'm happy". All thoughts that can be questioned.
Actually I don't even think we can choose not to head towards recovery, everything leads us there in the end. Acting out- leads us to the bottom, which leads us to recovery. Practising healthy living- leads us to more recovery. We can't lose. We sure can waste a lot of time though.
