That really sounds exactly the way I was when I first got sober, I have spent my whole life trying to change people, it has been a learning process to just "let people be. We can offer suggestions, but we cant change anyone. what a valuable lesson to learn. It does get frustrating at times, but its better than trying to control to outcome. Thanks for sharing Nvr2late.

For me I don't 'even offer suggestions anymore, if someone wants to know something they can ask. My codependency was huge and I can still slip into it on occasion. Keep the focus on me and the rest will fall into place seems to be the best advice I can give myself!

Si, if a give my 20 year old twins advice about education, or friends, money etc, would that bee considered codependency. They are still only very young adults and i think in need of guidance. but when they tell me that they know what to do, i do but out.
