I have seen the word hopeless alot today on the board and I would like to share my thoughts on this.
If we were not in so much pain and feeling hopeless we would never reach out for help, I know I hear this in meetings all the time, "none of us got here on a winning streak" if your like me I was pretty beat up and hurt when I got into recovery.
So if you are feeling hopeless right now, just keep coming back, day in and day out, take a few simple suggestions, and you will begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Recovery is where you start to have hope once again...
This hopeless feeling is only a temporary situation, and your life will get better, we are only feeling hopeless because our minds and our body are sick, and we have too heal, so dont beat yourself up, it takes time, sometimes a lifetime to heal all of our pain..
So keep telling yourself, you are worth it, and you can recover, and just do the next right thing for yourself.
We have all started from the same place of hopelessness, so your not alone anymore.
Live and Let Live...One Day At A Time. :-)

Yes I felt hopeless a week ago and even after ONE WEEK I feel less hopeless, if that helps newcomers.

Yes you are still a newcomers, and you are still one of us, so your comments are welcomed and needing as well.
Im glad you are feeling a little better, at least your moving forward, it just takes time, your doing good brd, so keep coming back and sharing with us, even if you slip, your still in recovery.
This is what i have learned since being in recovery for 3 years, no matter how i feel, what i say, or if i slip, i am always welcomed back with open arms, without judgement, and this is why recover has worked for me, i can just be comfortable in my own skin.

Hopelessness is not in my vocabulary. It is not a feeling that goes hand in hand with depression. That is just an illusion. It is a decision. Therefore we can also make a decision to be hopeful. Positive thinking is not a suggestion, it is mandatory if we are to recover. Find one thing and cling to it. For me it is my recovery and my progress which is spelled out in my journal. Don't forgot your gratitude list and that light that leads the way. They contribute to hope.
