We cant tackle everything at once, so yes I think it would be very helpful to you to journal, because whether you put pen to paper or do a journal on this forum, it is good to get these thoughts out. We have to feel our pain, in order to heal our pain. And also working the steps will help with this also.
Are you currently in therapy or going to any 12 step meetings in your area? Al-Anon, Codependent, or SLAA meetings would be good, and also you can get a temp sponsor or a permanent sponsor in your local group, and continue to post on this forum as well.
We want the pain to stop, and recovery is a process and it takes time to heal from a lifetime of pain.
Do first things first, and just focus on one day at a time.
