Is it clinical (biological deficiency) or situational (going through difficult time)? Treatments differ.
Clinical depression needs a diagnosis by a psychopharmacologist. Situational depression requires time and positive thinking.
I could write forever about depression. Mine started when I was four years old and was sodomized by my grandmother.

The religion known as Christianity has cornered the market about "walking through a storm with your head held high." Google some Christian dialogue about suffering with grace if you are situationally depressed.
In early recovery, I was an agnostic. Just to be open-minded I prayed a prayer that I had memorized and my depression got better. Scientific studies have validated this. It is a mystery as to how it works, but we turn on the lights even if we don't know how it works.
I will keep you in my prayers. For now, Let God do for you what you can't do for yourself.
Do not feed your depression with negative thinking. Most situational depression has a life span.
Go to war with depression. Throw off that wet blanket. Affirmations, affirmations, affirmations.
One more thought . . . Talk to your inner child or let her pray for you.
