I totally relate. I remember finding the same fear in myself, I think it translated in me more like "Is it safe to be happy?" Like I would definitely be in trouble if I started getting too happy. Lovely article Susan, I like that in the bible story Jesus didn't give the guy a lecture about how he was sticking to his misery, he just says to pick up your mat and go home. Do something. I love that level of compassion. Kristana, you are doing so well. Keep going in to your sweet self and finding out what is holding you back. Keep loving yourself despite and including all your fears. Byron Katie says that our fearful thoughts are like children. They need our love. People often think "I want to get rid of my faults, of my fearful thinking", and she says something like would you throw a sad little child out into the street? No, you would wrap your arms around them and love them. That's all that's going on here. Those thoughts are like sad, frightened children.

thas great point of view,J ..accepting the dark parts ,surender, not hate them ,just acept all parts of one self and do our best to change what we can.
