I read the thread about the Outer Child and it was really similar of who I describe as my Inner Teenager who is angry and hurt
Two different self-help terms that mean the same thing. Lori Glass uses the term teenager and Susan Anderson created the Outer Child. I like them both. Will someone who knows please post about the differences and similarities of them both. Thanks.
"Yesterday, I was trying to contact a friend but I couldn't reach him. We talked about seeing each other. I wasn't able to reach him all day. It triggered my separation anxiety. I started to feel really lonely and really sad."
I can really identify with this statement. Actually I hadn't really even considered that it would be the neglect and abandonment that I experienced early in my life, that could be responsible for these feelings. I feel that way a lot when I am waiting for a friend to call or just feeling a bit lonely in general. Recovery is a process....and it is dealt with in layers and stages. Guess this is just another layer Thanks for your post
