Husband stalked me on phone, in car by gps, and read my texts and listened on phone( he worked for phone company.) My daughter and I are safe with a friend, but he has been calling my friends and threatening tire slashing, and destroying or selling my harp on eBay. Has been dishonest about money and nearly broke me until I cut off funds( he hasn't worked in six years and has a lot of debt.
Also, my son has turned against me. I picked him up from school and went to Walmart to get a throwaway phone for safety. I asked him for his phone, and he refused. He then went in the back of store while I was getting new phone and texted his dad to come get him. I didn't know, but he was acting so weird and cold to me, that I suspected. But I ignored my intuition because I couldn't believe he would do that.
As we walked into the parking lot, his dad drove up and he jumped in the car. My husband drove away with my son hysterical. I cried in the parking lot for 20 minutes.
My lawyer says the judge has to sigh the papers before I can get back in house, have my stuff, or my son. Been waiting a week. Police told me they could do nothing.

From Susan . . . Just my personal opinion . . . Be careful once you make the break. You can't be codependent for years and then go cold turkey. If for any business reasons you have to talk to him stay calm and don't unload. This is not the time. Also, do not get involved with anyone else for awhile. Studies show that when a battered woman finds someone new this triggers batterers and sometimes leads to murder/suicide.
This is my personal opinion based on my experience. You won't hear this from the feminist social workers. They advised Nicole Brown to do anything she felt like once she left OJ. He said give me a year before you date my friends. She told him to go to hell and the rest is history.
