I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I couldn't find anywhere else that seemed appropriate. Please let me know if it's in the wrong place. I would love to start attending CoDA meetings, and there is one close to me. I do have a huge concern, however. I work at a local school and I know lots of parents from there - current parents as well as parents of children that have graduated. One of my fears is that I will run into a parent at a meeting. The school where I work is particularly gossipy and I would like to keep my personal life to myself. I'm wondering if anyone has ever had the experience of seeing someone they know at a meeting and how they handle/handled it. Thank you!

Co-DA is an anonymous program. If you run into someone you know, approach them after the meeting and remind them that you guard your privacy. Be strong.
Story . . . Man was sentenced by the judge to go to AA meetings. At the next court date the judge said, I noticed that you did not go to any meetings." The man said, "Yes I did." The judge replied, "I did not see you there."
