One of the neatest things that I have found to reduce anxiety and obtain a safe and trusting "vessel" for some of my feelings would be ASMR. This stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. It's a large word for the tingles people sometimes experience during head-scratching or when someone whispers, just right, into your ear. It is very important to note that some people are triggered by the close attention. I find it very relaxing. My partner finds it creepy. Additionally, there is a lot of ASMR that is NSFW (Not Safe For Work).
If you go looking for a nice soothing ASMR artist, sticking to YouTube will probably yield safest results. There is a longstanding community of ASMR artists on YouTube. One of my personal all time favorites, and someone who has been leading this community for a long time is Maria (GentleWhispering). I really do trust her to deliver a kind of personal attention that some men lack. Her content is conspicuously clean and her energy is just so healing. I only listen to female ASMR artists. I understand from the community that women seem to be ok with both male and female ASMR artists, men seem to prefer female artists. This trend is actually the same if one were to look at counselor gender preference, women seem to be preferred helpers by both sexes. Does this mean men should pull up their shingles and go weld something? No.
Anyways, here is a nice short example of ASMR. If you already are a fan of ASMR and you know of a good safe (must be safe and non-sexual) male ASMR artist, let me know!
