So, first the good news: I got a job offer today! After having been unemployed since January, that IS good news.
Now why am I still anxious?
1) This new job is in a very similar environment to my last job - and my last job became toxic when I had been there about two years.
But I liked that job - until my supervisor left. That was when things started to go south. I’m trying to remember that. What are the odds of having another very toxic atmosphere at work? There can’t be that many of them. Plus, I had a chance to talk to a guy who already works there, and he seems to think it’s OK.
2) What if my boyfriend asks me to move out, now that I’ve got a job?
I’m still insecure. I’m still afraid that I’ve ruined the relationship beyond repair. Even though he did agree to try again. Even though he said he loves me.
I think I have generalized anxiety disorder (although I don’t have a formal diagnosis.) All my life, I’ve been doing this. No matter how good my life is, I *always* find something to worry about.

LostKate:
I asked you in another thread I responded to you if you got the job. I see here that you did! Congratulations!
1. You won't know about the environment on the job unless you actually are working there. People aren't employed at one job for life anymore. Think about how personnel changed on the jobs that you've had in your past. The toxic folks move on, and less toxic folks come in. Give it a chance. But also keep in mind HOW you handled yourself in your prior job when things became toxic. BTDT glad I GTFO...
2. You can't control [that word] your BF and his actions. He DOES love you and his actions show that. And, look at it this way. With some more income coming in, think of how you can make your living situation better. Paying bills, going out more often, streaming television shows & films you may like - or whatever you like to spend discretionary income on.
There is a silver lining here - it's not all doom and gloom. Hang on to that.

When you begin your job, walk in with your HEAD HELD HIGH, listen to your supervisors, keep your business to your business (re, don't over share about your life) and most important of all - boundaries of politeness. Please. Thank you. You're welcome. Of course I can... You know the drill. Just a bit of advice from a gal who overshared too much on HER job, learned her lesson and things went better.
Best of all MONEY IN YOUR POCKET!!!!
