....and it’s probably never going to go away and just let me enjoy the good things about my life, once and for all.
The past few years have been bad. Yeah, it’s a transition and a “growth experience” and who knows, maybe I’ll be a better person in the long run. But enough of that sugarcoating. The past few years have been BAD, not “dysfunctional,” or “a learning experience.”
I was really, really happy before, two different times in my life. I’m grateful for that. I know that some people don’t get as much as I got. No matter how badly I hurt, I always feel guilt and shame because so many people have been through much worse things.
I’ve been really happy before, and I know how good it feels, and I’m hurting now and I don’t know if I’ll ever get the good feeling back. And it’s like the whole d**n world is on a downward trajectory. The political situation. COVID-19. What’s next, a giant meteor hitting the earth?
L and I plan to go to a park for a walk later today, and I do have anti-anxiety meds that I’m allowed to take when it’s really bad. Maybe now is one of those times.

Rose Nadler:
Don't get over taken by CORPRATE B.S. Speak. It's all worthless talk for others to make money and ADD VALUE to the EXPERIENCE for the TEAM.
Years ago, back on my TOW (the other woman) boards, somebody made a post which resonated. Sure, many people have had it WORSE than you. That does not mean for you NOT to feel the pain. Your pain and your (yes, here it comes) EXPERIENCE is your own. We're not participating in the Suffering Olympics. We each have our pain - you, me, every other set of eyes reading this.
Shame and guilt are something we all feel unless you're a sociopath or a full blown Narcissist (!!).
We cannot - absolutely cannot change what is happening in our world. COVID-19, our political situation or a meteor headed towards us.
What we can change is what we are doing and how we are handling it. If taking some of your prescribed medications works for you at this moment in time - take the prescribed dose. Take a walk with L, even if it's around and around your block.
FWIW I'm feeling similar to you and getting really, really antsy.
Thank you for posting. This is something I needed to read this morning.

This was a few weeks ago. I’m doing a lot better right now. But I know that it will probably never go away forever. This is why, in order to build up my strength and health for the future, I make it a point to do something good for my mental health every single day, no matter what kind of a mood I’m in. I’ve learned the hard way that I can’t just forget about mental health, like some people apparently can. Yes, some people seem to go through their whole lives, never once worrying about their sanity. Not me. If I want to keep my teeth, I have to brush them every day. If I want to keep my sanity, I have to do something related to this program every day.

Agree!
We always see commercials regarding physical health (Nike commercials, Weight Watch commercials, etc.). Society is all over physical health.
Mental health (spiritual health) - not so much. But poor mental health is just as devastating as poor physical health.
My therapy sessions and my church/spiritual activities are just as crucial to my well-being as my physical activities.
