Online dating sites have long been a place where fraudsters and con artists have preyed on vulnerable victims, often love addicts. It seems that during the pandemic, lockdowns and increased social isolation, more and more lonely people are falling victim to these kinds of scams. They not only feel humiliated, can get their hearts broken, but can also lose vast sums of money because of their desperate need for "love". Here is a recent report on this phenomenon: www.bbc.com/news/technology-55997611 Be careful and vigilant out there. Thank God, I haven't fallen into this trap, simply because I haven't been on these sites for a long, long time, but I know friends who have been targeted and narrowly escaped getting "robbed blind". However, I have lost inordinate amounts of money trying to please, fix, rescue and buy love from boyfriends by doing for them what they should be doing for themselves. "Love" and neediness make us blind, but the truth sets us free. Please share below if any of this has been a problem for you.
