No matter how open, accepting and genuinely loving we become with recovery, there will be still be people whose anger, hostility and aggression will inhibit us from being all these things in their prescence. To be vulnerable with them is to be masochistic. Therefore, lowering our boundaries and eventually eliminating them should happen only with people-friends, relatives or lovers -with whom we have a relationship bathed in trust, love, respect and reverance for our shared, tender humanity.
