I am Susannah. My real name is Susan Peabody. I started this board and LAA in 2004. It has been a labor of love and taught me many new things about recovery. Most recently I have learned two new things: (1) The "trauma bond," which is bonding with your abuser usually because you feel sorry for him/her." (2) A "control bond," which is trying to control everybody you bond with.
I am now currently working on these new insights with my son Karl. He is fifty years old and my favorite person in the world when he is not abusing me. Long story . . . Right now I am also researching codependency with our children and learning to set boundaries with Karl. I will keep you posted. The rest of the time I am a trusted servant for LAA.
