After Hours Meeting
The concept of the After-Hours Meetings was the idea of Susan Peabody when she first started the LAA One Day at a Time Fellowship which was modeled after the AA fellowship where she got sober. For a while the meetings were also called, "parking lot meetings." They were meant to substitute for the time after a sit-down meeting where people sat around and had an informal discussion. After-hours meetings are not for everyone. There are usually a lot of newcomers who need to vent and ask questions (We ask that you not give advice unless invited to do so.) Also, a lot of people who are in a lot of pain are attracted to the after-hours meetings and they sometimes act out in negative ways. They are usually in the early stages of recovery and their acting out is a call for help. Still, we have guidelines to protect everyone. Speak to the host if you are unhappy. Susan P. Attachments:
