As I retire from LAA (but not this message board), I want to mention that creating LAA has been the most wonderful experience I have ever had. It kept me sober. It helped me with my underlying issues. It made recovery exciting and always fresh in my mind. There was no time to get complacent. Nothing I have done, and nothing I will do in the future, can ever compare to the joy I have felt carrying the message to the over 8,000 people who have visited the board. My hope for the future of this board is that people will come forward and share their experience, strength and hope. Even newcomers have something to say. Nakupenda (I love you in Swahilli.) It has been a trying day, but God has sustained me and now I am watching the sunset and putting ointment on my hives. Here is my journal entry for the day
Step One . . . I am not going to drink over this. In three months, I am going to have 40 years of sobriety. I am powerless over people, but God has the power to restore me to sanity. Eventually . . .
