Articles about Love Addiction A few of these articles say that love addiction is not mentioned in the DSM IV. It is but under another name: erotomania. Erotomania refers to someone who falsely believes his or her PoA loves them in return.
Borderline Personality Disorder is mentioned in the DSM IV and this is what love addicts were called before the 80's
Attachment disorder is used a lot these days but it only refers to children between the ages of 1 -5 so it is more of an underlying issue.
Just remember that most labels in the psychiatric community refer to underlying personality disorders. This helps with recovery. But it is the addiction that has to be addressed first. This is why we have Love Addicts Anonymous.

Love means deeply committed to other person. Basic meaning is to feel some one. Otherwise called demanding to otherperson in relationship. It's also defined by an emotional as well as physical connection with him or her that runs immeasurably deep, and life without your significant other would be practically unthinkable. For more details about love check here.

All books about love addiction refer to Dorothy's Tennov's book, Love and Limerence." This is what she calls romantic love and she explains the pros and cons. Soren Kierkegaard also explains the "laws" of romantic love and when it becomes dangerous or addictive in Works of Love.
