Because recovery from relationship addiction requires such rigorous effort and yet is to difficult to measure effectively, it is far more common for relationship addicts to claim recovery than acturally to achieve it.
It is so tempting to see ourselves as fully recovered when, in fact we have barley begun what will be a lifelong process of change and growth, struggle and self discovery.
One of the keys to recovery is in recognizing that it (and we ) will always be a process, never a finished product.
