Addiction of any kind creates the pressure that makes personal transformation possible, because recovery from addiction requires the surrender of the personal will to a Higher Will.
No one can surrender someone else's will, and therefore no one can bring about anyone else's recovery. Indeed, those of use who would try undoubtedly need to do some surrendering of our own.
