Susan suggests to create a phantom lover if you are a torchbearer. Thinking about my past I can define myself as a torchbearer.
I had my stronger crush for my PoA and it lasted 6 years.
I never see my PoA, he lives in another country.
During the last 5 months of recovery I e mailed him just 3/4 times and I think I will mantaine n/c in the future.
I start thinking he is a "phantom lover" to me. I now think about him very often but I don't struggle anymore, I don't feel bad.
I had years of real pain for this addiction in the past six years, I feel healed now, I'm serene.
I think about him with serenity.

Yes, for me my last POA is sort of a phantom lover because I don't and won't have contact with him, but I don't want him as my phantom lover because he really exists. Before I go to bed at night I visualized another phantom lover that doesn't look like anyone I know and I think he is just another form of my HP. HP is usually a ball of white light, invisible energy, or sometimes a transparent, fatherly face in the sky.
