I have found that sometimes you have to re-adjust your recovery strategy. I originally de-friended my POA on facebook, sent him a short, emotionless note about why I was defriending him, and thought that would be enough. Now, due to their new privacy settings, I can still see his page when I type in his name! SOOOOO...I had to take the next step and just disable my facebook page, so that I have NO access to him at all. This really stinks. But I know that I will not be able to control myself from looking at his page. I was still able to see his picture even after defriending him so I know this is necessary.

In hindsight, you could have asked him to block you...but ultimately, you did the right thing. We have to sabotage the addict that is in us.

yes, I could have asked him to block me...but I don't think it would have helped. Even seeing his name on a mutual friend's comment was a trigger for me. Better for me to be totally off facebook for now...I've found that I'm more at peace. thanks, besatt!!!

Hey, thanks! And good for you! I just went straight away to his page...which has been such a heartbreaking element of our relationship in the past....and I blocked him first! woo-hoo! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!
