I understand -- I'm addicted to male attention, male energy, male approval. I am fortunate that I have wonderful, close female friends, so I have some balance in my life. Therapy and really delving into the 'why' of this soul-crushing craving has helped me a lot. I knew I was not able to 'solve' this serious issue on my own -- I found that simply focusing on chores and hobbies did little to relieve the cravings -- they simply were a temporary mask. I needed help (group therapy) - I still do. But that's ok, because I have my whole life to recover...

i love the approval and intrigue as much as the act. the dance leading up to the act is just as fun for me.

Like any addiction, it CAN be managed, but one has to do the work. First things first -- stop using. I found true recovery by going to a therapist weekly (she specializes in addiction) and being accountable to her. I still take it one-day-at-a-time so as not to be overwhelmed; I've been in therapy (at least once a week, sometimes twice weekly) for nearly two years. For me, intense therapy and inner child work (John Bradshaw is a terrific resource) were the crucial keys to recovery.
