I read LovelyJune's blog post on sstuffs the other night and it got me thinking about how we as love addicts (me for sure) normally settle for far less than we deserve. Great post by the way! A must read for anyone struggling with self esteem issues. I'll be the first to admit that I have some issues in that department that I look forward to correcting.
Yesterday as I thought about the recovery ahead of me, I wondered how I can move away from settling for sstuffs and out of the blue I said to myself "If I ain't flying first class, I ain't flying!"
I believe that in life if coach/economy class is the most cost effective and practical way you can travel, then that is the best way to go. I don't believe, however, that we should settle for coach when it comes to relationships. Yesterday it dawned on me that I've been flying coach all my life instead of sitting in first class where I deserve to be. Going forward I will not allow anyone to relegate me to coach. If I ain't flying first class, I ain't flying!
From now on I'm only flying first class because I'm a first class man! Under no circumstances will I settle for coach! If I ain't flying first class, I ain't flying!
• Not coach with the possibility of an upgrade to first class on a future flight
• Not coach with the possibility of an upgrade to first class during the flight. I take off and land sitting in first class the whole way!
• No! I will not have my name put on the standby list because the flight is overbooked!
• No! I will not give up my seat on first class to someone else
• No! I will not feel embarrassed or ashamed of the fact that I'm sitting in first class!
• No! I will not munch on peanuts and pretzels! I'm a first class passenger worthy of a first class meal, not sstuffs!!!
I'm also going to be very selective about which airlines I fly from now on. Not every airline is going to meet my standards. I have to be prepared to walk away immediately if I see something I don't like (red flags). I can't keep letting everyone into my world with no regard to whether they deserve it or not like I did in the past. I've been flying whichever airline was at the airport regardless of where it was coming from, where it was going, when it was leaving, or how badly it treated me. NO MORE!!! I'm a first class man and I deserve first class treatment!
If I ain't flying first class, I ain't flying!
