Just wondered whether this is something that will come with practice.
Fortunately distraction has been quite usefull in dissolving addictive thoughts or extending the time between thoughts, however when sitting down to do some meditation and being 'alone with my mind', lots of the bad stuff comes flooding back.
The nature of the mindfullness meditation I am trying is to observe these thoughts if/when they come up but try to remain in the present. I find during the meditation at certain points I feel those shots of adrenaline triggered by deep thought.
Is this something that should be worked through? Perhaps doing the meditation is 'exposing' the issues a little more and bringing them to the surface.
