Hi everyone, Suddenly more and more often I´m feeling ashamed of the things I´ve done in the past with my (ex) poa, especially the red flags I overlooked. I´m looking at things from the other´s point of view, and seeing myself as giving messages of very poor self esteem. Is this part of recovery, me opening my eyes, or am I just punishing myself (to avoid feeling all the anger I have towards him)?

There's 'healthy' shame and then there's 'toxic' shame. How to discern between the two? One keeps you from acting out, one keeps you from loving yourself. Read Bradshaw's book or review, "Healing the Shame that Binds You" -- a fascinating read!
