Positive thinking is pretty amazing and you can make significant changes in your life as a result of it.
BUT-it's important to allow yourself to feel all of your emotions. Stuffing them away and deciding to focus only positively will only help so much when you feel awful.

Positive thinking is pretty amazing and you can make significant changes in your life as a result of it. BUT-it's important to allow yourself to feel all of your emotions. Stuffing them away and deciding to focus only positively will only help so much when you feel awful. Please do not equate positive thinking with stuffing feelings. Positive thinking is only the last step. It comes after "feeling your feelings." I get your point however. We must not forgive or move on prematurely because we are pressured by a belief system like Christianity.
Identify emotion Talk about it Write about it Feel it Accept it Forgive Let go Move on Start at the beginning with new emotion or event . . .
Stuffing means keeping an emotion down in our unconscious and not letting it up into the conscious mind where you can process it.

Wayne Dyer is an excellent writer.
Thumbs up for him from me too. I have not read this book. But I have been into his Pulling Your Own Strings : How to Take Control of your Life since last year. Its hugely helpful & can transform the way one looks into & thinks about everyday things and relationships & begin to think in a different way. In the process one starts looking at & understanding oneself in a new light.
