12 Steps for the Christians.
Step 1 .We admitted we were powerless over love, romance, fantasies and relationships and that our lives had become unmanageable.
Romans 5.6.
6. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
Step 2. Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
Colossians 1.15-17.
15. Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16. For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17. And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Step 3: Turned our will and our lives over to the care of God, as we understood God.
Colossians 1: 15-17.
Step 4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
Psalms 139:13-14.
13. For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
14. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
Psalms 139: 23-24.
23. Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24. And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Step 5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
James 5:16.
16. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
Step 6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
Mark 6:56 b)
56. b) And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.
Step 7. Humbly asked God to remove our shortcomings.
1 Joan 1:9.
9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Step 8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
Joan 13: 34-35.
34. A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Step 9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
Matthew 5:23-24.
23. Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
24. Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Step 10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
Galatians 6:4.
4. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
Step 11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood God, praying only for knowledge of God’s.
Joan 15: 7.
7. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Step 12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, we tried to carry this message to others, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
Matthew 25:40.
40. And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
