A woman's heart should be so hidden in God that a man should have to seek Him first to find her

This is so nice. A man has to find Him before he finds me. I think all the men I met were not even on the spiritual path.

THAT statement is going on my Values list. It's my top priority, I just never saw it stated that way.

when you have faith in god/hp it is a feeling and you know he is there with you (blind faith). And if you are walking a spiritually path any man/women should be on that same path. I know when I met my poa, i was not acting very spiritual, I made my poa my hp, and it was a disaster. so i will stick with my hp.

I personified God as a handsome man, framed a picture and wrote erotic poetry. I just fell in love. Very odd experience at the time.

Try reading a trilogy called: "Conversations With God" by Neale Donald Walsch. I found it wonderful. It might help you. In conjunction with that, begin a practice of regularly talking with God.......any of your ideas of God will work because God is really ALL and is everywhere so all can reach God. God is not hiding. With the regular practice going, you will eventually increase the amount of time practicing and eventually you will know the presence of God. Like I said...........use/imagine your idea of an HP - Higher Power - and this power manifesting itself as a thinking and spiritual and occasionally physical being. The higher power will not ignore you if you truly seek it.

I have always believed in god/hp, I just know when im praying and things in life are not going easy, i just have a peace from within. It is not like magic and the god is not magician. So i would advise you to get some books about spiritually, Im not sure what your beliefs are, but that would be a good place to start. everyone does not believe in god, nor is everyones god the same. so it is a personal choice, as to who you make your HP. But whoever your HP is, the only requirement is to just believe your life will be better, if you lean on your HP.

Okay, then how do I love God and become passionate for God? It's not as obvious to me as to some of you. What are the concrete practices of doing this? How to "love" a feeling that something spiritual is "there with me"? You can pray for it and read the Bible, attend fellowships, listen to podcast, anything and everything to get to know God. And once you get to know Him you will become passionate for Him so much so that you cannot stop praising and thanking Him. Just knowing how much He loves you unconditionally, what He did for you, etc, will "melt your heart" into loving Him. It's all done in faith and by faith. For "without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." God said, if you seek Him w/ all your heart you will find Him. He is knocking at your door (heart), if you will let Him come in, you will never be the same again inside of you. You will be a woman whose heart is hidden in God's and you will attract a man that is after His heart too.

Yes we are pre-programmed to look for and find the "ideal." If there is no one to explain to you that the "ideal" is God you read a romantic novel and think the "ideal" is a man or woman and the connection is passion (limerence)
Our "ideal" is also a composite of the parents we wished we had and we project this on to people we are attracted to (Hendrix).
As we get older and wiser we understand that the "ideal" is God in whatever manifestation you want.
My "ideal" is the Trinity---the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (female).

Love is within. Project that love to a image of God. Make that image perfect. Fantasize about this ideal object of your desire.
I was thinking about God and we were in a platonic relationship.
Then something just clicked. I realized that God had saved my life by sending me to a 12-Step program. I was so grateful I just fell in love and had a good cry.
Gratitude is sometimes a stepping stone.
Your imago list can be transferred on to an image.
Absent a personified image of God I don't know what to suggest.
Maybe God as a blanket of warmth on a cold day. Have you ever been cold as ice and lit a campfire. For a moment I love that file.
It is all in the mind. God is somewhere and also within (Gospel of Thomas)
* * * For a scientific explanation get the book, A Variety of Religious Experiences by William James. (Brilliant but not an easy read. I have tried to get past the 4th chapter for 30 years.)

This is my personification of the Holy Spirit.
