The idea of God testing our faith goes all the way back in the Bible to the character of Job. He lost everything and, even though he asked why, his faith did not waiver. Today, we do not know if this is true or whether or not it is a coping mechanism to get through difficult times. I don't know for sure, but I know when I retain my faith is God no matter what, I get rewarded with a brighter tomorrow. So, it is up to you whether this philosophy suits you. God did give us free will. But when we choose to believe in God and a new beginning, you always get rewarded with the strength to persevere. Attachments:

Sometimes you just have to keep your head down and wait for the pain to be over.
Now that I’m older and have gone through some bad things, I do know logically that bad times don’t last forever. At least, at this time, I’ve not yet been through a bad time that didn’t eventually end. I try to remember this. I try to believe that sooner or later, the pain will stop.
