In Alcoholics Anonymous the third of twelve steps is to turn our self-will and our lives over to the care of God. When I asked my sponsor to explain how to do this she said, "move forward and if you hit a brick wall turn left." In my Christian Walk, in order to know God's will, I look for open and shut doors. When I move forward, and all the doors are open, I continue. When the doors are all shut, I reconsider my decisions. How do I know the difference? When the door is open "invisible hands will come to my aid." Joseph Campbell. I will experience some kind of validation and guidance. When the door is shut, I cannot open it no matter how hard I try. What is important is that I accept the fact that I do not know what is best for me, but God does. All of the miracles that I have experienced in life are a result of following God's will. As a result, my intuition has grown by leaps and bounds, and God's will for me is easier to discern. All this saves time. Attachments:
